Aldercote Ireland brings together two industry leaders
Aldercote, the UK’s leading manufacturer of vehicle-mounted access platforms, has announced the launch of Aldercote Ireland, dedicated to bringing the company’s products and expertise directly to customers across Ireland.
Aldercote Ireland is a joint venture between Aldercote and Mooretown Precision Engineering (MPE), an established County Meath manufacturer with over 25 years of experience in truck body building, access equipment fitting and nationwide maintenance. Operating from Ratoath, Co. Meath, just outside Dublin, the new business is ideally placed to serve customers from Donegal to Cork.

Cian Carey, Director at MPE, said: “MPE has built a strong relationship with Aldercote over the past decade, and we’re delighted to now formally go into business together. The launch of Aldercote Ireland is the natural next step and reflects the strength of our working relationship to date.
“Since moving into management at MPE, I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with Marc, Paul, Dave, and all the Aldercote team. We’re very excited about the future and the opportunities this new venture will create.”
Marc Paish, Managing Director at Aldercote, added: “We’ve been proud to serve customers in Ireland for some years and we’ve seen a real appetite for what Aldercote offers.
“With the launch of our new business we’re now offering our Irish customers a truly local service, backed by the manufacturing quality and technical expertise they already know us for.”
Aldercote has built strong brand recognition and market share across Ireland in recent years. The launch of a dedicated in-country operation marks a natural next step: combining Aldercote’s engineering pedigree and product range with Mooretown’s vehicle conversion prowess, established industry relationships and nationwide service capability.
The new business will see Aldercote manufacture platform kits at its Hull facility and ship them to Ireland, where the platforms will be mounted on vehicles sourced from Irish dealers by the Aldercote Ireland team. A dedicated spare parts stockholding will also be maintained on-site, enabling fast turnaround and responsive after-sales support across the whole country.
A consistent focus on engineering innovation has been central to Aldercote’s growth and reputation. Its flagship E-Drive system replaces traditional power take-off technology with a self-charging electric solution that allows platforms to operate with the vehicle’s engine switched off. Compared with a conventional PTO setup, E-Drive saves an estimated 600 litres of fuel and 1.5 tonnes of CO2 per platform per year, while also delivering smoother, quieter and more precise operation.
Aldercote’s platforms are lighter than traditional equivalents, using high-tensile steel and optimised boom geometries to give fleet operators greater payload without compromising on height, reach or safety. Most recently, the company has launched a platform range designed specifically for fully electric vehicles, a significant step for fleet operators navigating the transition to zero-emission transport.
Mooretown Precision Engineering was established in 1999 by Noel and Helena Carey and specialises in manufacturing, truck body installation and aerial lift maintenance, serving local authorities, utility companies, electrical contractors, rental companies and end users across Ireland.
